What it's about

We are looking for an in-house investment fund attorney in our Broomfield, CO office. This candidate will focus on evergreen private equity products (including registered investment companies) and respective bespoke client solutions. Partners Group’s Structuring Solutions team is responsible for developing innovative investment fund structures for institutional and private investors globally. Structuring professionals regularly interact with the firm’s client relationship management, investment, and operations teams as well as with clients, external professionals and regulators. Representative projects include, for example, the design, formation and negotiation of fund vehicles suitable for the inclusion of private equity in private wealth channels, defined contribution pension plans and the orchestration of implementing and maintaining bespoke solutions for specific markets and/or client needs, always including profound analysis of both commercial considerations and the applicable regulatory framework (Investment Company Act of 1940, ERISA, etc.).

  • Efficiently manage complex structuring projects from a legal, regulatory, operational and project management aspect, with an emphasize on US private wealth offerings
  • Lead the design, formation, and negotiation of customized fund offerings with business/distribution partners (e.g., banks)
  • Interact with clients and prospective investors regarding strategic initiatives and product onboardings
  • Draft and/or review documentation relating to a variety of fund structures
  • Assume responsibility and ownership for select funds, including maintenance and related processes and procedures
  • Develop set of skills and general Partners Group know-how, particularly relating to the Structuring service catalogue and relevant interfaces with (operational) teams
  • Research legal and regulatory considerations relevant to specific clients, products and jurisdictions Instruct and manage external legal advisors and other service providers
What we expect
  • Qualified professional with 5+ years of relevant work experience at a top law firm, bank or asset manager, whereby direct private markets fund formation and/or investment exposure is key
  • Direct working experience with registered funds, evergreen funds, distribution arrangements, insurance dedicated funds, securitized vehicles and other innovative structures
  • Regulatory knowledge in relation to investment funds, particularly US registered investment companies and/or private evergreens
  • Self-starter and proactive individual, with the ability to be an independent contributor
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and project management skills to manage multiple projects at any one time
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex topics with both internal and external parties
