What it's about

 

Looking for an established senior investment leader to help build and lead Partners Group’s growth equity team in the US. Reporting directly to Ben Breier (Head of Private Equity, Health and Life), your focus will lie primarily on healthcare minority growth investments (Series B+ with check sizes starting at $30M and scaling up to $200M) but also work on occasional control buyouts ($1B+ checks) globally. The team will be targeting companies that have achieved product market fit and momentum with a near-term path to profitability. The goal would be to deploy $500M per year to build the growth portfolio but could grow beyond this with success.

This role will leverage your deep expertise in healthcare growth investing to identify transformative healthcare opportunities (pharma services, healthcare delivery, specialty pharma, healthcare IT, life sciences tools, and med tech), lead due diligence and build trust with management teams and founders. As a key platform architect, you'll also contribute to overall strategy and team development, collaborating closely with the broader PE direct team, 200-person team, and global growth team. They aim to transition from participating to leading rounds, actively shaping the market, and attracting top-tier companies through proactive, thematic deal origination and leadership in investment rounds. This is a pivotal role for an ambitious builder ready to help shape the future of their growth platform.

 

Responsibilities:

 

● Spearhead the strategic expansion of Partners Group growth equity portfolio by sourcing, executing, and managing investments

 ● Help lead the growth team in the US and work closely with the team of talented investment professionals across Europe and Singapore, fostering collaboration and maximizing team effectiveness

● Develop and implement a proactive, thematic sourcing strategy focused on identifying transformative healthcare opportunities (pharma services, healthcare delivery, specialty pharma, healthcare IT, life sciences tools, and med tech) within Series B+ with check sizes ranging from $30M to $200M 

● Lead comprehensive due diligence processes, including financial analysis, market research, and management team evaluation

● Shape the future of Partners Group's growth platform, contributing to strategic planning, team development, and operational excellence

 
What we expect

 

10-12+yrs of investing experience with exposure to healthcare growth investing

● Proven track record of successful transactions: experience closing deals and ideally involved in successful exits

● Boardroom experience: served on boards, with demonstrated ability to provide strategic guidance and mentorship to portfolio companies

● Innovative approach to due diligence: ability to go beyond traditional methods and uncover hidden potential while effectively assessing risks

● Demonstrated sourcing ability: relentless hunger for success and a passion for identifying and persuading high-growth businesses

  • Partners Group compensation has a long-term outlook and philosophy, and our total compensation emphasizes performance based long term incentives.  Base pay range for this role is $310,000-$370,000, and a performance-based bonus are additional parts of the total compensation package.
