Portfolio Analyst / Portfolio Associate (Liquid Credit)

Partners Group operates a leading private debt business platform with USD 31 billion of assets under management (as of June 30, 2024) including +USD 17 billion of global liquid credit AUM, including 27 US & European Collateralized Loan Obligations ("CLOs"), private liquid credit mandates and open-end and closed-end liquid loan strategies. In this position, you will be an integral member of the rapidly growing Liquid Credit team. 

 

We are looking for a portfolio management support analyst to join our highly successful and growing Liquid Credit business. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing support to our global CLO platform, including the US Pikes Peak CLOs and the European Penta CLOs, and related CLO warehouse vehicles. This position will involve working closely with the CLO portfolio managers, CLO structuring professionals, and credit analysts in London and NYC, as well as external service providers, to ensure seamless operations.   

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • The person hired for this role will:
  • Work closely with CLO portfolio managers, structuring professionals and credit analysts (based in London and NYC), as well as external service providers (collateral administrators and loan settlements team) to ensure flawless service levels.
  • Reconcile holdings of the CLOs between the internal database and trustee data. Investigate cash and position discrepancies with trustees.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to ensure all data is accurate and well maintained.
  • Secondary point of contact for trustee and third-party business vendor relationships related to CLOs or fund vehicles.
  • Execute loan amendments and corporate actions
  • Ownership of the CLOs’ cash management and oversight of the outsourced loan closing team. Answer questions raised by the outsourced loan closing team and advise them on priorities. Investigate and resolve asset trade settlement delays and issues, when necessary.
  • Calculate and verify CLO waterfall and quarterly distribution payments made to CLO investors.
  • Support fund launches by managing the operational process from pricing to closing date, including review of the flow of funds.
  • Prepare monthly trustee and ESG reports for the CLOs.
  • Establish proper controls and create efficiencies to mitigate risk and improve processes. Use technology to automize processes.
  • Track public and private ratings of loans.
  • Perform CLO hypo testing as requested by portfolio managers, and related communications with trustee for reporting purposes.
  • Develop a wider understanding of CLO portfolio management and loan trading and use that knowledge to increase service levels.

Qualifications:

 

  • The ideal candidate should have:
  • The ideal candidate will have a degree in economics, finance or business
  • Up to 3 years of CLO and / or bank loan experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential
  • Willingness to learn and to take on responsibilities
  • Flexibility on work hours when supporting or backing-up colleagues, as requested
  • Strong knowledge of excel. Knowledge of Markit WSO is a plus.
