What it's about
As a Valuation Professional, you will be responsible for (1) contributing to the daily Net Asset Value ("NAV") calculation of private markets investments held by defined contribution/ semi-liquid products via preparation of the daily valuation tool (2) process improvement initiatives and (3) contributing to the monthly valuation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Perform and enhance Daily Valuation process
- Determine the value creation of the private market portfolio companies on a daily basis with attention to accuracy and timeliness.
- Investigate and resolve checks and exceptions identified by the daily valuation tool according to procedures within scheduled timeframes.
- Record and respond to internal and external stakeholders' queries.
- Proactively troubleshoot issues faced in daily valuation process and tool, manage escalations and evaluate effectiveness of implemented solutions via close collaboration with global teams.
- Identify efficiencies and areas for improvement to reduce risk and enhance operational effectiveness.
- Flag service delivery issues early when delays are expected.
- Perform the annual review of internal policies and guidelines governing the daily valuation process.
- Assess the performance of the general public markets and monitor corporate actions of private market portfolio companies daily. Generate extraordinary valuation adjustments where necessary.
B. Contribute to monthly valuation process
- Contribute to the monthly valuation processes of private credit and private equity assets by carrying out checks, controls or any ad hoc analyses.
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or relevant work experience in Fund Accounting or Mutual Fund Accounting
- 5-7 years work experience in the financial industry that involves private market assets is preferred.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills required to research and resolve inquiries within scheduled timeframes
- Exceptional attention to detail and multi-tasking skills required for accurate and timely valuation adjustments
- Ability to absorb information quickly, work in fast-paced environment and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy
- Initiative to identify process improvements while referring complex problems to supervisors when appropriate
- Ability to manage multi-stakeholder processes, ensuring accurate and consistent outputs
