Team Context

The Fund & Investment Management platform team within the Business Applications Group is dedicated to managing the product life cycle, with a focus on delivering comprehensive solutions for transaction processing, accounting, valuation, and portfolio management for Partners Group’s direct and indirect investments. This team is instrumental in supporting investment life cycle management solutions across all asset classes, facilitating activities related to portfolio management, ESG monitoring, and investment valuation.

Role Purpose

A Senior Solution Engineer is a technical leader who leads complex solution delivery, shapes engineering practices, and guides engineers across platforms. This role combines deep engineering expertise with business partnership and accountability for production outcomes within the Fund & Investment Management domain.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Delivery & Engineering

  • Lead complex, cross-functional software initiatives from design through production adoption.
  • Provide technical direction for solution architecture, implementation, and platform evolution.
  • Drive modernization, automation, and reliability improvements.
  • Define and improve coding, testing, integration, and deployment standards.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, observable, and maintainable.
  • Provide quality assurance for internal and external engineering teams.

Stakeholder & Team Engagement

  • Partner with business stakeholders from problem framing through solution adoption.
  • Influence technical decisions across engineering, architecture, data, and delivery.
  • Mentor engineers and lead peer reviews and knowledge-sharing activities.

Risk & Compliance

  • Champion secure-by-design, privacy-by-design, and control-by-design principles.
  • Ensure practices comply with policies, regulatory obligations, and risk tolerances.

 

 
What we expect

Qualifications

  • Education: Master's degree or equivalent experience; Computer Science, Engineering, or quantitative discipline preferred
  • Experience: At least 7 years in software engineering, ideally in financial services
  • Led complex development initiatives, guided engineering teams, and managed production services with demonstrated expertise in system design, quality, security, and reliability.
  • Communication: Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence technical decisions
  • Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with Private Equity, fund management, or investment operations (desirable)

Technical Expertise

  • Programming Languages: Advanced proficiency in Python or Java
  • Databases: Confirmed hands-on expertise with relational databases and SQL
  • API Development: Proven experience in API design and development
  • Cloud Computing: Strong practical experience with AWS EC2, Lambda, ECS, Fargate, S3
  • Experience with modern AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code

Good to Have

  • Experience building or working with autonomous AI agent workflows.
  • Frontend development experience in React and TypeScript.
  • Workflow and job orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Control-M
  • Serverless and microservices architectures
  • CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Messaging and data streaming technologies such as Kafka, SQS, Amazon Kinesis
  • Data warehousing technologies like Snowflake
