Valuation Control Analyst

What it's about

In this position, you will be part of the Investment Valuation Services team which is responsible for the investment monitoring and valuation process across our private equity, private debt, private infrastructure and private real estate investments. Within the Valuation Control sub-team, you will be responsible for:

  • Management and coordination of the investment valuation and monitoring process with a focus on Direct Investments
  • Ensuring timely closing and accuracy of month end valuations for reporting purposes
  • Preparation of reporting packs and valuation overviews for the Valuation Committee
  • Analyze and understand valuation drivers and assist in various quality control checks for Partners Group's private market investment valuations
  • Ongoing monitoring and tracking of the performance of allocated investments and preparation of bottom-up valuations using commonly acceptable valuation methodologies
  • Collaborate with various teams within Partners Group as well as with external parties (service providers, auditors etc.) on monitoring and valuation related matters
  • Support and potentially lead internal projects to develop investment monitoring and valuation tools / procedures, in order to cope with changing business or regulatory requirements.
  • Take on responsibility for additional operational tasks related to the overall monitoring and valuation framework in Partners Group
What we expect

The successful candidate should have the following profile:

  • Bachelor degree, preferably in Accounting and/or Finance (CFA candidate or charter holder is a plus)
  • Ideally 1-2 years work experience in the financial industry (within the area of private equity or valuation advisory or accounting/audit) and has some basic understanding on the different categories of equity and debt instruments
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • A self-directed person, able to manage and complete tasks effectively within demanding timelines
  • Has a strong desire to learn and succeed, is well-organized and is a good team player
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to details
  • Well-organized, eager to learn and a good team player
  • Familiar with MS Office and other databases such as Bloomberg, S&P Capital IQ, and others
  • Capabilities in VBA, SQL or proficiency in building excel based tools is a plus
