Portfolio Manager (BlueEarth)

What it's about

We are seeking a professional (Vice President) who will take on product management for Blue Earth Capital's existing seven funds and future products. The successful candidate will independently manage and coordinate the products' investment allocations, performance track record, liquidity, cashflow forecasting and reporting, as well as develop new portfolio construction proposals. In this position you will work with the products' third-party fund administrator(s) and internal stakeholders, as well as represent BlueEarth and its products in front of prospective and existing clients.


The position reports to BlueEarth's Chief Executive Officer.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage existing and future BlueEarth products, coordinating with the third-party fund administrator(s), reporting to senior management, and making recommendations to the Global Portfolio Committee, on:
    • Investment allocation proposals (across the products) according to the Allocation Directive
    • Track record ownership: prepare and maintain the statement of investments, and portfolio & product performance. Act as knowledge centre for product performance and track record queries
    • Product monitoring: Monitor products against targets (asset allocation, deployment, returns) and caps. Provide product monitoring reviews and required analyses to the Executive Committee and Global Portfolio Committee
    • Product liquidity: Lead cash management of funds (calls, distributions, bridging) in conjunction with third-party administration providers
    • Fee management: control management fee calculation and implementation in conjunction with third-party administration providers and BlueEarth accounting function
    • Cashflow forecasts: Produce and maintain cashflow forecasts for each product
    • Deadline-drive reporting: Control and oversee delivery of fund reporting (incl. investment reports, NAV & Capital Account Statements, financial statements, GP risk reports, audit process), semi-annual valuations
    • Lead the selection, development and management of a portfolio management software
  • Represent products to existing clients and support new product development:
    • Together with sales team, support client acquisition and retention
    • Act as point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on portfolio construction and performance
    • Create bespoke portfolio proposals for existing and new clients, focusing on asset allocation, pricing, investment returns/risk and cash flow modelling
    • Initiation and implementation of global portfolio management initiatives, contributing to the development of innovative & bespoke private market offerings



What we expect

We are looking for a professional with the ability and willingness to excel within a highly entrepreneurial organization. The successful candidate should have:


  • Four to six years of professional work experience in private markets or private equity/debt investments, and/or portfolio construction experience linked to private markets in a multi-asset context
  • Experience/track record in portfolio management, fund/mandate strategy development and implementation
  • Proficiency in Excel and coding/ VBA
  • Excellent academic credentials with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a top-tier university in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics or similar.
  • Professional qualification (e.g. CFA, CAIA) helpful but not a requirement
  • Understanding of a variety of investing styles across private markets, and knowledge of principles of portfolio construction
  • Self-motivated and proactive team player with entrepreneurial mindset and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, inter-personal, and written communication skills
  • Business fluency in written and spoken English is required. German preferred but not essential
