Senior Legal Counsel - Fixed term contract

What it's about

The Corporate Legal team provides legal advice to Partners Group and its internal stakeholders on a wide variety of matters and projects with a strong focus on enabling the business units while safeguarding Partners Group's interests and reputation.


Due to a maternity absence the Corporate Legal team is looking for a Senior Legal from January to December 2022 (with certain flexibility regarding the exact dates).


In your role, you will participate in the day-to-day business, provide legal advice on a wide variety of matters and projects and contribute to the continuous development of best practices and processes of both the Corporate Legal team and the company. Your internal clients will include business units such as within corporate operations, Structuring (fund structuring team), Human Resources, Finance, Corporate Communications as well as local boards and teams of the group entities in the EMEA region. You will also support the Group on a wide variety of projects of strategic importance.


Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Advise and support stakeholders on a variety of corporate, commercial, financial services and employment law matters, including the review and negotiation of agreements
  • Ensure compliance with Swiss stock exchange and listing rules
  • Support internal investigation, pre-litigation and litigation matters
  • Be a trusted advisor to your internal stakeholders
  • Support of the Corporate Legal team, the COO/General Counsel and the local boards in a number of legal and organizational tasks and projects


What we expect
  • Law degree and admission to the bar (Swiss bar is a plus)
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience (post bar exam) in an internationally oriented law firm and/or as an in-house counsel in a financial services company
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Analytical mindset and structured way of working
  • Excellent judgement and problem-solving skills
  • A strategic thinker, able to negotiate agreements and apply legal strategy in line with Partners Group's commercial and legal interests
  • Ability to work well under tight deadlines
  • Team player with can-do attitude
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills that allow you to easily develop and maintain effective relationships with all levels of the organization including senior stakeholders
