What it's about

The Business Applications Group is closely aligned with the business teams and responsible for the key applications to administer, monitor and analyze Partners Group’s business processes through the investment value chain. It takes care of the availability, development, customization and on-going enhancement of these applications to best support the global business operations of Partners Group. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer/Architect focuses on defining and developing operational and infrastructure strategy within agile and DevOps environments. Working across all platforms within the Business Applications Group to deliver key services with the highest levels of availability, security and resilience for the entire Partners Group business application landscape.


We are now looking to add a professional to our growing team, based in Zug. You will have the following responsibilities:

  • Serve as a lead infrastructure engineer/architect across technologies both on-prem and cloud
  • Develop and drive adoption of best practices throughout the software delivery process for both application delivery and infrastructure as a service
  • Balance between delivering quickly, maintaining change control as well as managing incidents and problems
  • Own the infrastructure overview to ensure resilience, performance and control over costs
  • Assess, advise, plan and implement transition of existing infrastructure to AWS cloud while owning and maintaining current on-prem infrastructure during transition
  • Own and improve components shared across entire platform such as: system message handling, mailing and mail processing, feed generation etc.)
  • Own and execute projects in the infrastructure space including the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure that projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Create and maintain comprehensive infrastructure and process documentation
  • Manage the relationship with internal clients and stakeholders
  • Propose strategic approaches to drive the business applications platform further within Partners Group
What we expect
  • Excellent record of academic achievement, ideally Bachelors, MSc in Computer Science or other scientific or quantitative discipline
  • At least 4-7 years of experience in owning, developing and maintaining complex technical infrastructure
  • Extensive cloud platform experience with Amazon Web Services (Application platform knowledge of: EKS, Fargate, Lambda, RDS)
  • Have implemented Infrastructure as Code with Terraform
  • Experience using GitLab or comparable platform
  • Advanced knowledge and application of methodologies in: CI/CD, DevOps, Agile, Kanban, Scrum
  • Experience coordinating with developers to solve business requirements with entrepreneurial mindset to constantly improve the status quo
  • Excellent communicator with a team-oriented approach


Advantage if you have the following:

  • Google Could or Azure experience
  • Practical experience with Microsoft infrastructure
  • Strong project management and personal organization skills
  • Linux server administration experience
