Senior Tax and Mobility Specialist

This position offers an excellent opportunity for you to join the Total Rewards Team to drive the mobility program and ensure HR tax compliance. The mobility program covers both employees on a temporary international assignment as well as permanently relocating employees to a different Partners Group office globally ("mobile employees"). You will work closely with the regional HR teams globally to ensure that all mobility related policies and tax considerations are managed. This is an excellent career opportunity to have exposure to all business areas of Partners Group and employees with diverse backgrounds.
Main responsibilities
- Governance and oversight, including consistent application of the global mobility policy in line with legislative and regulatory requirements, standards, and other known relevant policies and guidelines in e.g. Switzerland, UK, Singapore, Philippines, USA, etc., and judge when an exception is warranted
- Advise and instruct the regional payroll teams on long term incentive payroll processing. I.e. determine the multiple locations where payroll tax liabilities arise due to the transfer of mobile employees during the lifetime of their awarded long-term incentives. Furthermore, drive the development of control processes to ensure that the reporting and taxation in multiple payrolls are implemented
- Trusted advisor to senior executives on their personal or team members' relocation matters and coordinates their tax-compliance services with 3rd party advisors
- Works cross-functionally with the corporate tax department to flag corporate tax risks triggered by employee mobility. Furthermore, contribute to the corporate tax reporting of long-term incentives by providing accurate payroll data regarding mobile employees to the corporate tax team upon request
- Build and maintain successful, trusting relationships with global stakeholders
- Provide excellent customer experience to all relocating employees by personally advising them on key considerations
- Contribute to compliance with day-to-day immigration processes including business travel by advising local HR Operations on thresholds triggering tax liabilities abroad
- Manages external relocation and tax providers
- University degree (preferable accounting, taxes, economics, or comparable studies) and/or minimum 7 years relevant experience in mobility
- General global knowledge of payroll, income tax, and social security principles
- Experience in the corporate world, demonstrating a solid understanding of corporate structures and operations
- Able to make directional decisions with respect to tax-compliance risks independently, in line with company philosophy
- Excellent oral and written English
- Team oriented, can-do attitude with ability to work independently
- Strong global mindset and sensitive to various cultures
- Very strong ability to balance individual, people-oriented needs and company interests
- Likes to design and monitor processes to ensure global tax mobile tax compliance
