What it's about

To lead the regional NAM team within the Real Estate Partnerships business unit, including secondaries, co-investments and primaries. The successful candidate will be responsible for a) mentoring the NAM Partnerships team; b) sourcing transactions in NAM; and c) negotiating and closing partnership investments. After this working with the team and external investment partners to drive the implementation of a mutually agreed business plan. Maintaining and growing the network of investment partners and advisors in North America operating in our high conviction sectors is an important part of this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Source, develop and negotiate secondary and co-investments in NAM in addition to assuring quality control in the due diligence, internal investment, and monitoring process.
  • Rigorously test potential deals and articulate a strong investment case for the investment committee with proven hands-on real estate experience.
  • Develop transactions, run due diligence, and execute post-investment initiatives as a leader contributing to the team’s success.
  • Support the capital raising team in NAM on fundraising for global real estate secondary strategies.
  • Manage and lead the NAM Partnerships team, providing coaching and guidance to professionals.
  • Exhibit strong judgment and consistently adhere to investment committee standards. Show potential to develop into a voting investment committee member.
What we expect

To include experience in some but not necessarily all these categories

  • Deep experience with ‘brick and mortar’ real estate, ideally within a private equity and/or fund/investment management business but could include principal investors or developers over an 8 year plus history.
  • Track record of origination and execution of real estate transactions in North America, preferably with secondaries experience.
  • Experience executing transactions with a value-add or opportunistic risk profile across multiple asset classes with a focus on commercial assets (residential/multi-family, office, retail, and logistics). Experience with alternative asset classes is a plus.
  • Broad North American network of investors, investment partners, developers, and asset managers across all sub-sectors of real estate. Ideally with relationships in the LP and GP community and among operators of real estate.
  • Proficiency in administrative, contractual, financial, and commercial aspects of transactions. Rigorous and detail-driven approach to due diligence.
  • Confident at managing and influencing internal and external stakeholders including senior management, business line leaders, investment partners, JV partners etc.
  • Strong sense of integrity, honesty, and fairness. Values empathy and respect. Builds trust and transparency and seeks constructive dialogue and open debates.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a strong desire to achieve results.

  • Partners Group compensation has a long-term outlook and philosophy, and our total compensation emphasizes performance based long term incentives. Base pay range for this role is $225,000– 250,000 and a performance-based bonus and equity are additional parts of the total compensation package
