What it's about

Partners Group is seeking a Regional Head Legal to lead the Americas Investment Legal team based in Denver / Broomfield. Candidates should have substantive experience with (cross-border) corporate investments and divestments and working with international teams together with experience in leading a team of dedicated legal counsels. Investment Legal (INLE) provides legal, strategic and policy advice expertise to Partners Group’s investment teams worldwide while protecting the interests and reputation of Partners Group and its portfolio. Members of INLE are involved in all high risk and Partners Group-specific matters relating to transactions and strategic iniatives and have a wide range of additional responsibilities across the firm. The role of INLE is dynamic and continues to evolve as Partners Group further develops its businesses in response to the requirements of the firm and its clients. The Americas Investment Legal team comprises three counsels and one paralegal led by the Regional Head Legal and is part of a broader global team of in total 13 counsels with additional Regional Heads in Europe and APAC, all reporting to the Head Investment Legal based in Zug / Switzerland. 
 
Responsibilities:
•    Lead and develop the Investment Legal team based in Denver / Broomfield as the Regional Head Legal reporting to the Head Investment Legal;
•    Represent legal matters at Partners Group's investment committees;
•    Provide legal support to investment professionals and senior stakeholders across the Americas on critical matters and across all of Partners Group's asset classes;
•    Review and discuss the advice of external counsel where required;
•    Ensure adherence to Partners Group standards and processes;
•    Provide internal legal assessments (conflicts of interests, opinions, etc) to ensure adherence with internal policies;
•    Support other teams (including, but not limited to, tax, structuring, compliance, and the general counsels' office) with investment and other relevant legal queries on an ad-hoc basis; and
•    Contribute to initiatives aimed at identifying and implementing areas for improvement and/or seeking to enhance existing processes within the team, department or the wider firm.

 

What we expect

Top academic credentials and qualified US lawyer;
•    12+ years of extensive post-qualification experience at a law firm and/or in a relevant inhouse legal function, focusing on M&A and/or funds work;
•    Inhouse experience as legal counsel for a private markets asset manager being a strong plus;
•    Detail oriented with excellent analytical and project management skills;
•    Adaptable and solutions oriented with an understanding of market terms;
•    A team-player with superior communication and interpersonal skills;
•    A self-starter who takes initiative and makes things happen;
•    Good understanding of the firm’s business and the private equity industry; and
•    Experience in leading a team of highly qualified lawyers.

Base pay range for this role is $304,000 – 348,000 with a performance-based bonus and equity compensation included as part of the total compensation package
