Staff Accountant

What it's about

  • Support the full-cycle accounting process for our US and Canadian operating entities including (but not limited to): Cash, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Prepaid Assets, Fixed Assets, Investments,  Payroll, Operating Expenses, Taxes.
  • Assist with monthly and quarter-end closing and group reporting process including closing journal entries, account reconciliations and consolidation reporting (COGNOS).
  • Assist with year-end audit process including accounting process documentation, walkthroughs, PBC preparation and compilation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP / IFRS.
  • Familiarity with upcoming changes to Lease accounting standards (ASC 842).
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process.
  • Identify areas within the accounting process for potential improvements and efficiencies.
  • Perform ad-hoc finance and accounting duties as assigned by management.
  • Monthly / Quarterly sales tax reporting to multiple jurisdictions
  • Annual preparation of Form 1099s for suppliers / vendors
  • Management and oversight of the corporate credit card process in the US.
  • Fluency in Portuguese (or Spanish to a lesser degree) a plus.

  • For this challenging position, we are looking for a trustworthy individual with strong analytical skills, ability to pay excellent attention to detail and who will adhere to strict deadlines.


  • The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience.  Public accounting experience a plus, but not required.


  • We are looking for a highly motivated, self-sufficient candidate who can take full ownership and responsibility for the certain accounting processes with limited oversight.


  • Candidate must be comfortable with ambiguity and be comfortable working for a fast paced, growing global company.


  • Experience with a high volume of inter-company transactions preferred. ​​​​​​​
