What it's about
As a Senior Accountant you will be independently responsible for applying the accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyse financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. Your responsibilities will include:
- Independently responsible for timely and accurate financial closing at the local level (local GAAP & IFRS) for some of our Guernsey Group entities
- Independently responsible for the interim and year-end audit process including preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with local GAAP
- Independently responsible for the regulatory reporting and capital adequacy adherence
- Preparation of quarterly management accounts which are presented to the local Board
- Oversight and review of financial information / accounts that are outsourced
- Oversight of local tax compliance with support from our local tax advisers
- Oversight & monitoring of local budgets
- Responsible for adherence to internal financial controls
- Support and engage with cross departmental projects as assigned by local management / head office
What we expect
- Candidates must hold a professional accountancy qualification (ACCA / ACA or equivalent)
- 6+ years of accounting / financial experience
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and self-management skills
- Team worker with self-drive and a strong desire to contribute
- Experience in a global environment and / or auditing background a plus
