Senior Client Due Diligence Officer (Luxembourg AML expert)

In this position you will act as a senior member of the Customer Due Diligence (CDD) team, who owns/develops the AML/CDD technical expertise and is responsible for compliance assurance and oversight. Partners Group operates a CDD team which oversees the execution on investor AML/CDD matters by our service providers. In this role the candidate and the wider CDD team operate in close conjunction with Client facing staff, the internal Compliance team and the multiple service providers engaged to perform AML/CDD tasks.

In addition, you will have to develop a relationship, collaborate and communicate with a multitude of other stakeholders such as local committee members, investors and regulatory bodies.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Luxembourg AML regulations and will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of our AML programs from a first line of defence perspective.

Your tasks will include:

  • Maintaining a state of the art, risk-based control testing program on AML/CFT service providers, for a variety of areas, such as screening, transaction monitoring and maintenance of comprehensive CDD files
  • Maintaining and implementing a robust AML/CDD oversight program on AML/CFT service providers, including developing the content of due diligence questionnaires, due diligence sessions and ongoing monitoring controls
  • Drive service providers to deliver quality and performance in accordance with the CDD team's expectations while maintaining an excellent client service
  • Drawing up and/or strengthening AML/CFT/CDD processes/operations to ensure an appropriate governance framework for Partners Group's Luxembourg alternative investment fund manager ('AIFM') and for all the funds it manages in Luxembourg
  • Performing four-eye validation checks and acting as a reviewer/critical challenge to junior members of the CDD team
  • Leading and making significant contributions to local and global AML/CFT/CDD team projects with tight deadlines as well as significantly contributing to cross-team/inter-departmental projects
  • Ensuring that operations, within the AIFM, at fund level and within the AML/CFT service providers are fit for purpose and can withstand regulatory scrutiny in line with regulatory requirements applying to Partners Group across the globe
  • Proactively engaging with client facing staff to problem solve, think critically and maintain a business-friendly relationship while enforcing a strong controls culture

 

What we expect

 

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant work experience in the funds industry and private markets space
  • Solid and proven expertise in Luxembourg AML/CFT law, including an in-depth understanding and implementing the CSSF's regulatory expectations and the Luxembourg market standards
  • Excel at translating regulatory requirements into operation and driving service providers to deliver
  • Audit and/or control testing/compliance assurance skills
  • Experience in applying AML/CFT requirements to distributor relationships will be considered a significant plus
