Finance Manager (Process Improvement)

What it's about
The Finance Manager drives the realization of initiatives within the finance organization related to the 'Accelerate Together' transformation program. The Finance Manager works closely with the Head of Group Finance, Head of Group Reporting and the Head of Finance Services in overseeing improvement projects, implementing lean initiatives and coaching the team in realizing benefits from lean practices.
In addition, the Finance Manager is responsible for managing a local accounting team(s), including oversight over local processes, providing guidance to local team members, monitoring and addressing risks and setting priorities. Its responsibility also includes ensuring all day-to-day financial operations locally (including timely and accurate financial statements and providing big picture insights to internal and external stakeholders). Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and leading team-wide and cross-departmental accounting projects are also part of its responsibilities. In addition, they master the following responsibilities and competencies:
- Drive improvement projects ensuring best practice and operational excellence culture
- Identify and deliver on E2E process maturity improvements aligned with the process community by applying LEAN methods
- Coach leaders and teams to develop their knowledge and capability to use LEAN in their own areas; lead and coach the community of ‘LEAN Ambassadors’ in maintaining and developing their skills
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators and oversee benefit realization and performance improvement
- Aggregate and report on the overall progress of the transformation program
- Ensure timely and accurate financial closings at the local level (local GAAP & IFRS)
- Define, implement and ensure adherence to internal controls and Operational Excellence principles
- Manage relationship with local regulators, boards, auditors, service providers and external stakeholders
- Manage, mentor and develop accounting team members to ensure (i) completion of required tasks, (ii) achievement of goals and (iii) professional development
- Coordination of "HR activities" incl. recruiting, performance and development process, etc.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting
- 10+ years of relevant working experience
- LEAN expert; Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus
- Proven track record in applying LEAN methodologies, such as DMAIC, VSM, KAIZEN, etc.
- Experience within financial/business services environment and finance organization
- Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Problem solver, entrepreneurial mindset; analytical and structured thinker
- Self-starter; independent working style
