Private Equity Impact Investment Associate - PGII Climate Growth Fund

What it's about

PG Impact Investments ("PGII") is seeking to hire a New York based investment professional to join the Private Equity Directs team specifically for the Climate Growth Fund ("CGF"), a newly launched strategy to invest globally in a broad range of verticals addressing climate change mitigation and adaptation. The PGII Climate Growth Fund has a target size of USD 300m and seeks to invest equity check sizes ranging from USD 20m to USD 40m. The Wietlisbach Foundation has committed USD 50m as anchor investor and further anchor investors are in advanced due diligence.

The Associate will work directly with senior investment members of the Climate Growth Fund and will have the following responsibilities:

  • Apply critical thinking and judgment in analyzing and evaluating investment opportunities;
  • Prepare industry and competitive landscape research;
  • Construct detailed operating, financial, and transaction models, including an ability to develop and run several operating, financing and transaction scenarios;
  • Ability to communicate clearly in written communication including the drafting of investment evaluation materials and sector/theme analyses;
  • Interaction with third party due diligence partners (including but not limited to financial, commercial, legal, ESG, tax and insurance advisers);
  • Support negotiating of debt facilities, purchase agreements, employment agreements, and incentive compensation for management teams;
  • Act proactively in all matters arising in the ordinary course of investment management, acting quickly to identify, address, and correct issues;
  • High level of motivation and desire to be part of building out a growing investment firm.


What we expect
  • Two-to-three years in private equity or other principal investing roles preceded by two-to-three years in investment banking/management consulting.
  • Demonstrated prior investment experience in which the professional successfully managed relevant stages of an investment such as: analysis, due diligence, company valuations, preparing investment memorandums, structuring sources of funding, and overseeing third party advisors.
  • Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • High degree of attention to detail with strong presentation and written communication capabilities.
  • Top academic credentials.
