What it's about

The Private Real Estate team at Partners Group delivers investment solutions to institutional clients worldwide. As Head of Business Development, Asia, within the Client Solutions business line, the successful candidate will be working in partnership with the broader Private Real Estate investment team and Client Solutions professionals to manage fundraising campaigns, develop bespoke solutions and drive overall growth within the firm’s suite of Infrastructure products. Ultimately, success in this role will be measured by the successful attainment of new capital, development of new and innovative investment solutions, as well as providing excellent client service to existing investors.

 

The successful candidate will enjoy a high level of support and involvement from firm leadership, the Private Real Estate investment team, the Client Solutions team, and will be expected to work in a highly collaborative manner with others across the firm to successfully raise capital and serve investors.

 

This hire is for a key role within the firm’s overall growth and expansion strategy in the Asia. The successful candidate will join a highly regarded asset manager on a successful growth trajectory, with an emphasis on growing the Asia business. The successful candidate will enjoy the excitement of an entrepreneurial firm coupled with the strength of a highly experienced and stable platform. While the successful candidate will be responsible for deep expertise in the firm’s Private Real Estate products, they will be expected to work closely with Relationship Managers from the Client Solutions team to provide clients with the opportunity to consider a range of top tier investment solutions with an outstanding track record of investment performance.

 

Skillset and responsibilities include:

  • Technical/Industry Expertise
    • Proven asset class expertise within Private Real Estate
    • Work closely with the firm’s investment professionals and contribute to the development of Partners Group's investment capabilities
    • Ability to drive a business plan for the asset class in the region, including development of new investment solutions
    • Solid understanding of key competitors, fundraising and industry trends to help position and launch the firm’s offerings effectively and in a timely manner
  • Client relationship management
    • Network of key decision-makers and influencers within the institutional investment universe across the Asia
    • Ability to work closely and collaboratively with the broader fundraising team to source new investors into Partners Group's Private Real Estate investment vehicles and separately managed accounts
    • Ability to map out the Asian Private Real Estate investor market to detect any white space, and develop new investor leads
  • Organizational and fundraising campaign management
    • Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and execute end-to-end fundraising campaigns including, term sheets, offering documents, presentation materials, due diligence questionnaires, RFPs and other relevant documentation
    • Provide updates and maintain seamless communication with existing investors; identify re-up and cross selling opportunities within the firm’s existing investor base
    • Lead initiatives to differentiate Partners Group in the market and help build the firm’s brand in the Asia including (i) supporting in the organization of Partners Group-sponsored events, (ii) driving thought-leadership content and representing Partners Group as a speaker at industry conferences
What we expect

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, and MBA and/ or CFA preferred
  • 7+ years of investment management/ fundraising experience within Private Real Estate, prior experience as an asset/ portfolio manager is a plus
  • Strong balance of technical/product expertise
  • Proven track record raising private capital and achieving a high level of client satisfaction across various sales channels in the APAC institutional investor space.  Knowledge of the Korean market is a plus
  • History of strong collaboration with institutional sales and consultant relations colleagues
  • Strong network among industry colleagues that results in the reciprocal sharing of ideas, referrals, and introductions
  • Established credibility and strong reputation as a high integrity, trusted advisor among investors and peers in the private market's investments community
  • Willingness to travel 50%
