What it's about

 

To strengthen our Group Internal Audit team, we are looking for an experienced and strategic leader in Singapore who has deep expertise in private markets. The Group Internal Audit team's coverage is global, across all relevant corporate bodies and business departments of Partners Group. This senior role offers the opportunity to lead complex audit engagements, represent the function at the executive level, and drive strategic initiatives that enhance the firm's governance and risk management framework.

 

In this position, you will oversee multiple audit engagements simultaneously, provide strategic direction to the audit team, and serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on assurance, risk, and governance matters. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversees and leads complex audit engagements across a range of business areas and activities with limited supervision, ensuring adherence to internal and industry standards
  • Represents Group Internal Audit in meetings with senior management, selectively in committee meetings (local boards and others), and client operational due diligence meetings
  • Leads the appointment and management of co-sourcing partners in coordination with the Head of Group Internal Audit
  • Materially contributes to the development of annual risk assessment and audit plan through identification of new risks, audit ideas, and conducting risk interviews with business leaders
  • Provides strategic direction and mentorship to audit teams, developing their capabilities and ensuring high-quality deliverables
  • Proactively shares knowledge and insights across the organization, "connecting the dots" on audit matters (risks, controls, findings, and recommendations) utilizing a firm-wide network
  • Effectively contributes value to the business beyond internal audit scope, serving as a trusted advisor on governance, risk, and control matters
  • Successfully identifies and implements development needs and opportunities (including emerging topics) contributing towards the team's vision, purpose, and goals
  • Demonstrates mature leadership capabilities within the team and across the organization

Skills of a successful candidate include:

 

  • At least 9-11 years of relevant experience in internal audit or external audit roles within the financial services industry, with demonstrated progression to management level
  • Deep subject matter expertise in audit methodology, risk assessment, and governance frameworks
  • Proven ability to lead complex, multi-dimensional engagements and manage multiple stakeholder relationships
  • Exceptional English communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to influence at executive levels
  • Strategic thinker capable of identifying emerging risks and opportunities for the business
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing audit professionals
  • University degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Law or a related subject; Master's degree preferred
  • Relevant professional qualification required (e.g., CPA, CIA, CFA, or FRM)
  • Experience in private markets or alternative investments is highly desirable
