Senior Fund Controller

Partners Group's Product Accounting team owns the net asset value of 1000+ products totaling USD 119 billion assets under management. We make monthly accurate and timely financial information available to our clients. We provide financial expertise to resolve Partners Groups' current and future challenges. We have a dedicated controlling mind-set to understand all aspects that drive the net asset value of the products we are responsible. We uncover weaknesses and find solution together with our internal and external stakeholders for an excellent output.

You will be responsible mainly for the following tasks:

  • Represent Product Accounting as ongoing interface between external stakeholders and the Business Unit, leads discussions and finds solutions for non-standard fund activities to enable the smooth functioning and quality of Product Accounting output
  • Contribute as technical advisor and initiate collaboration with Partners Group stakeholders to uphold quality in accounting output
  • Create accounting Posting Conventions for new business cases in accordance with IFRS or GAAP
  • Propose sustainable process solutions for new business cases and lead constructive dialogue with all relevant stakeholders in each value stream to achieve the most desirable outcome
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and training for all relevant stakeholders involved in a non-standard business process
  • Effectively manage and guide stakeholders during product milestone events i.e. investment and product onboarding, offboarding, transfers, and restructuring activities to drive quality in accounting output
  • Coordinate with affected teams the resolution of accounting re-openings and quality issues and agree on solutions with stakeholders to prevent recurrence
  • Lead Business Unit projects to adapt to industry leading business requirements and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Coach the team on accounting technical topics and Partners Group operations to achieve operational excellence
What we expect

The successful candidate should have the following profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, preferably with a professional accounting designation (CA, CPA, ACCA)
  • Minimum 4-5 years of working experience in project management and fund administration or auditing, experience in private markets fund management company is a plus
  • Demonstrated process management skills in a comparable setting
  • Good understanding of private equity platforms/fund administration operations
  • Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills (written/verbal)
  • Results and process-oriented project management, stakeholder management and organizational skills
  • Capacity to multi-task, manage multiple project workstreams simultaneously and resolve conflicts
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and proactive individual with strong desire to learn and succeed
  • Unquestionable personal code of ethics, integrity, and trust
  • Able to work independently and successfully navigate with limited guidance, a highly complex, international, and fast-paced environment
  • Passionate about creating a lasting positive impact with a leading private markets firm
  • Business fluency in English required
