Data Privacy Counsel

What it's about

The Data Privacy Counsel will be a temporary member of the Corporate Legal team and act as a specialist data protection lawyer, advise on privacy matters, and assist with initiatives as needed.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Assist with the evaluation of enterprise third party privacy risk
  • Manage negotiations of privacy language with third parties taking a risk-based approach
  • Assist with the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s record of processing activities
  • Serve as a representative to the data management project, assisting with the development of the enterprise glossary and documentation of the source, purpose of use, and legal basis for data elements
  • Assist with the implementation of tools to streamline and where possible automate privacy processes
  • Advise on privacy matters, including completion of data privacy reviews and impact assessments
  • Assist in the maintenance of privacy related policies, tools, and templates
  • Organize and hold privacy training sessions


This role will report to the Privacy & Technology Counsel within the Corporate Legal department.

What we expect
  • University degree in law or information management
  • At least three years professional legal experience with an interest in developing a specialization the subject area of privacy and technology
  • Excellent legal and analytical skills, ability to exercise of judgment with high ethical standards
