IFRS Accounting Expert (80% - 100%)

What it's about
To extend the technical IFRS function of the Group Accounting & Reporting team, we are looking for an experienced team member assuming the following responsibilities:
- Assessment of application of IFRS to complex and new business transactions
- Group-wide assessment of changes to IFRS accounting standards and implementation thereof
- Development and maintenance of group-wide accounting manual in accordance with IFRS
- Involvement in preparation of annual and interim financial statements and review for IFRS-compliance
- Performing peer reviews and horizon scanning of financial statements and proposing areas for improvements
- Preparing and holding internal IFRS technical trainings and workshops at all levels of the company
- Drafting of technical responses to queries from financial regulatory and supervisory bodies
- Commenting on select exposure drafts from standard setters with significant impact on our industry
To qualify for this role, we are looking for a candidate meeting the following criteria:
- University/higher education degree and qualification as Certified Public Accountant (CPA or equivalent)
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in the area of audit and assurance or IFRS advisory services, of which ideally at least 5 years of relevant experience in an IFRS technical office or IFRS accounting advisory function, and preferably with one of the Big-4 Accounting Firms
- Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Problem solver, analytical and structured thinker
- Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment and under time pressure as required by projects' schedule
- Knowledge of upcoming ESG reporting requirements is an advantage
- Fluency in English language is required, German language skills and experience in a global environment would be a plus
