This role calls for a balance of leadership, influence skills, and execution as a supportive individual contributor. You should be able to work well under pressure and deadlines and be flexible, thriving in ambiguity and uncertainty, while delivering with quality and excellence.
The Senior Business Manager will provide the Private Equity team with strategic business planning leadership, recommendations on organizational challenges, participate in overall strategy discussions, lead key strategic initiatives, and facilitate business execution. You will work with senior leaders on strategic initiatives to understand the business and their input, to then craft a cohesive business proposal and be part of the implementation team on key projects.
Responsibilities:
- Report to and work in coordination with the private equity COO and operations team on operational and strategic initiatives that optimize and scale our global private equity department
- Create partnerships within the investment team and across other departments
- Develop and execute governance routines across the Private Equity platform and within specific industry verticals, including but not limited to, owning the preparation of monthly and quarterly business reviews and facilitating weekly leadership meeting preparation with a focus on outcomes
- Own KPI and scorecard requirements, process, and execution across Private Equity and within industry verticals, including influencing annual KPI target setting.
- Identify, develop, and drive strategic projects across Private Equity and within specific industry verticals. Track progress and drive completion of actions in alignment with leadership commitments and long-range financial plans
- Develop and ensure budget, resourcing, and long-term capacity is aligned to annual and long-range plans.
- Own headcount data and related actions (e.g., roster reconciliation, hiring plans, onboarding, identification of training needs, and staffing ratio analysis)
- Understand the voice of the organization and employee pulse.
- Set objectives and prepare content for leader meetings and team offsites
- Provide reliable, effective support on ad hoc projects and initiatives
- Gather, analyze and interpret data, writing reports and updating documentation
- Travel between global offices to build relationships, support strategic meetings, etc.
- The Ideal candidate will have Bachelor's or Master's degree in the related field and 5+ years of experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or other business-related roles
- Proven track record in operations, finance, and program management
- Expert skills in analyzing and modelling data
- Superior understanding of KPI and data analysis techniques
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and strong relationship-building abilities with diverse stakeholders
- Solid understanding of business processes and strategy development
- Proficiency in MS Office, databases, and information systems
- Highly motivated professional with diverse experience in driving success in a fast-paced environment
